and that i meant from the traffic light designed just for the cyclists. It has been an enjoyable, exciting yet exhausting week exploring one of the world’s most expensive city, Copenhagen. If not for the necessity of work requirements, I wonder if one would spend a week in Copenhagen, at least not for me at the first mention. However, I have to, after such a wonderful experience cycling in Copenhagen, take my words back. Infact, I wish I have more time dwelling in the beauty of what this quaint city has to offer.
Since my last cycling expedition in Paris, I’ve have been convinced that getting around the city using a bicycle has the unspoken thing that make you feel like you are a part of the city on a whole different level. Stealing a peek to the left at fellow cyclist – well-dressed Danish (i mean) on the bicycle,
, glancing off to the right to go with the drum beats.
You name it, you have it. Breeze trough the city while it embraces you with surprises along the way.
The window display of a spectacle shop. Isn’t it cute? Very creative, i must say in capturing one’s attention. Just that I feel it would be better if it’s a replica of that very iconic (at least for me) old man and old lady porcelain figurines on their rocking chair, one reading his book and the other knitting away, both spending their time alone yet together. The sight would be one bursting with tenderness.
With the bicycle, you are pretty much on your own and you are free to roam even to the tinniest street that is often missed if you are on the public transport. Off the beaten tracks, here i was, at Copenhagen’s dedicated Chilli House. Located at Copenhagen’s main square, Rådhuspladsen, Studiestræde 40, you will get all things chilli from
chilli illustrated vest to chilli apron to chilli fridge magnets to what i call the most ironic chilli sweets!!
Would I need chilli sweets when I am yearning for something sweet, probably not. But, there again, there’s the chilli chocolate which on another hand, is a perfect match to the palate.
With the bicycle as my mode of transport, I’m off to my next adventure, Copenhagen’s self-proclaimed autonomous neighbourhood of about 1,000 residents! Join me in my ride around the lovely, unconventional, free-spirited Christiania in my next jounal!
Bye! OR hej, hej, (in Danish) or quite simply, hi, hi, said in a very quick, charming, singing manner…HEJ HEJ 🙂
