Went for lunch at Vivo Republic Food court earlier and am amazed how a particular dessert stall is becoming more like an “add on” treats of an ice-cream parlour. I ordered a mango ice and the stall lady went, “Do you want mango? Add $1 for mango toppings.” Though tempted, I wondered if I should over-indulge myself after a hearty meal. However, the question of what’s a mango ice without mango lingered on.
Next, my colleague ordered Cheng Teng and the lady went again, “Add sea coconut for an additional $1?” And the same went on for the ice-jelly order . Time must be really bad or that this stall operator is really creative with her offerings!
Halfway through my mango ice, i caught sight of a ant drowned in my bowl of melted mango ice and our conversation went:
Me : Oh, see that! Should I go back for a partial refund? (Jokingly)
Angela : Refund? More like she will ask you for extra $1 for that additional ant topping.
Me : ya right, extra calcium, must-be!
And of course, I don’t need that extra calcium.
